We have loved living in our little cottage!
However, it was a bit on the small side and old side.
(almost 700 sq. feet, built in 1898)
We thought of updating and remodeling.
Nope. This cost TOO MUCH!
Just as much as building a new home.
Plan B:
Build a new house. Some liked this idea more than others.
Believe it or not it was the kids, who all share 1 room, mind you, that are not 100% in love with the idea of building a new house.
But, after years of research and prayers, we have begun.
Bridget drew up the house plans, after getting ideas and suggestions from Seth. Our architect made the plans official.
Let the clearing of the land begin.
We are going the Owner/builder route, with Bridget being the main contractor.

We are REALLY building a house.

I think everyone should experience moving sod at least once in their lives.

Yes! And once is all they ever want to do. Unfortunately, or fortunately, we also cut grandma's sod for her landscaping and had to move that too. Hard work builds character right?
DeleteSo excited for you! Yessiree.....laying sod is hard work - been there, done that. But, it is definitely all worth it in the end and saves you lots of money.
