TRUSSES!

The Trusses arrived the day before Thanksgiving!

Now, our whole house, in lumber, is here.  It's just on the ground waiting to be put together like LEGO'S.   

A big storm came in last Monday when the framing was supposed to begin, leaving us with a swimming pool in our basement. Apparently you cannot frame basement walls if there is 2" of water on the floor.

Flat Work

 This is our basement all ready for the concrete "flat work" to be done.

 The two stripes down along the bottom are footings for our load-bearing walls.  Tim, from SB Concrete and his crew are amazing.  They do great work and are entertaining to watch as they work so well as a team.

It was really hard to refrain from writing my name in the fresh concrete.

The Crew was back the next morning to cut stress lines.

LET THE FUN BEGIN!!!!!

After cleaning up some of the dust the kids were able to roller skate.

 I think I might just give that a try.  Looks so fun!

We see in the forecast a storm coming.  We are hoping to get the porch on before the storm hits!

 

 

Basement Plumbing

 This cute little track hoe showed up to dig plumbing in our basement.

 Now is a good time for a shout out to some of our contractors.  Troy Bailey, is absolutely an amazing excavator and all around great guy.  We have really enjoyed getting to know him and his positive energy is contagious.  Grateful for his abilities and desire to work with us.  Shane Adair, with Adair Plumbing, has been a huge help. He has helped me know which subs to call and given himself as a reference.  I will be forever thankful for his advice and guidance.  Not only that but he is an extremely knowledgeable plumber, glad to work with him.
