Merry Christmas!

Dashing through the snow...We are loving being out of school and spending time, playing games, watching movies, and sledding.
 Hallelujah, the plumbers have come.
If you look close the painted sink on the floor is not centered on the window.
Duh, yes the cabinet people need to come back and remeasure.

Let it snow!  We had a white Christmas!

Up on the house top, Seth clears snow.

Shingle Bells, Shingle Bells, Shingle all the way!

Starting To Look Like A House

If you will notice in the above picture that there are two 2 x4's that are painted black.  This summer after our son Quinn had the opportunity to fly to Alabama he was interested in creating his own airport.  He painted some 2 x 4's black for the runway. The runway was still kicking around the yard when the framers grabbed a board for bracing the trusses.  Quinn has left his mark in our frame work.

 The windows get cut out😃

After the windows are installed🙂 The framing of the porch begins.

We now have stairs.  This is huge.
Now we can access the basement without using a window well.

Love grows best in little houses!  I'm not 100% sure that it is because of the size of our house but these 4 sure have silly, fun, happy times together in the tiny bedroom they all share.  Another quirky thing about us is we LOVE animals.  Lately it seems our world revolves around our kids and their activities, our new house, and these two crazy cats!

Up On The House Top

4 Walls

The kids have been having a good time picking up nails with the big magnet.
They are excited for the good nails and left over wood. They want to make something "cool!"

 Trusses Going UP!

Most of the walls have been framed on the inside as well.
Things are really starting to take shape.  The word "excited" is an understatement.

Last week at school my daughters 2nd grade class found a kitten on the playground, tiny, freezing and starving.  Which kid got to call their Mama to come get it? Oh, mine.
Of course I am easily sucked in to taking care of a helpless little cutie.
However, we already have two cats of our own and this tiny baby is now ready for a home.  She is sweet, playful, and great with our kids.  Any takers?
(She's the small one.)

Framers Have ARRIIIIIIVED!!!!

Monday, despite the cold temperatures, the FRAMERS showed up!
They uncovered our tarp covered lumber and began framing the basement.
When I was in Jr. High, neighborhoods began popping up around my parents house, which up until that time was pretty much a rural area.  I loved walking through the houses once they were framed imagining what they would look like when they were finished and pretending it was my house.  I love the smell of the wood and the feel of new construction.
Even to this day I enjoy walking through houses that are in the process of being built.
Guess what?!?!
Now I am walking through a framed basement, once again imagining what it will look like once it's finished but this time I'm NOT PRETENDING, it is OUR house.  I am feeling so grateful and overwhelmingly blessed.
